One of the major issues raised by early reviews of the iPhone Duo is limited support by third-party apps. As we noted in our own review, there are three tiers of support currently, the worst of which sees an iPhone app stranded in the center of a mostly black area of the display.
A significant number of websites have gone offline, and that’s not due to a service outage, but rather a deliberate decision by the site’s owners. The reason is because extremely dangerous security vulnerabilities have been found in a protocol used by most websites – PHP.
We posted our own review of the iPhone Duo yesterday, and Chance Miller was left convinced that “this form factor represents the future of the iPhone,” while acknowledging that the first-gen iPhone Duo comes with trade-offs.
