Hamburg startup MuRay has raised €7.1M to look inside dense metal parts, such as 3D-printed rocket engines and gas turbines. It does this with muons, tiny particles that pass through materials that block X-rays.

Chinese robot maker Pudu Robotics has opened its European headquarters in Neuss, near Düsseldorf, as it builds out its business across the region. The Shenzhen-based company announced plans for the German site in September, following a showcase of its robots at the IFA trade fair in Berlin.
