Baseten released joey-1, a 2B open-weights “decision model” that returns an answer and a probability rather than text. It costs $0.01 per million tokens and answers in about 20ms, Baseten says. It joins the larger mammoth-1 and elephant-1 launched last week.

OpenAI-backed Thrive Holdings is buying ADT in a $15.3 billion deal, with plans to bring AI to the home security business.
General Motors has agreed to pay $220 million to settle claims that it illegally sold driver and location information to data brokers, as reported earlier by Reuters.
When the deal is complete, both companies are expected to continue operating separately.
