Attorneys general in Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska and West Virginia filed separate lawsuits against OpenAI on 14 October. Each claims ChatGPT has hurt young users and that the company misled the public about its safety.

The EU’s proposed cloud sovereignty law, the Cloud and AI Development Act (CADA), could cost Europe €115bn over ten years. That is the central estimate in a study by the Brussels think tank ECIPE. CCIA Europe, a lobby group whose members include Amazon, Google and Meta, paid for it.
OpenAI’s 110 staff in London received an average of about £2.3m each in 2025, counting salaries and shares. The figures come from the accounts of OpenAI UK Ltd, as Robert Booth reported for The Guardian. The staff shared £87m in salaries and £168m in shares, the Guardian said.

Berkshire Hathaway is buying 10 million new Bending Spoons shares at $33 each. The Milan-based company announced the deal on 14 October. The $330m private placement adds to the $600m Berkshire invested at Bending Spoons’ Nasdaq listing in July.
Anduril is letting current and former employees sell shares in a tender offer that values the defence tech company at about $90bn. The shares are priced at $94.80 each, and the offer is capped at about $1.3bn, according to Bloomberg’s sources.
“We lose Starlink and lose the interceptor,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told reporters on 17 October, Bloomberg reported. Zelenskyy said speed limits on Starshield, SpaceX’s military satellite network, remained in place across Ukraine.
“The jury’s verdict confirms that Arm operated in good faith under its technology license agreement and its award of only two dollars confirms the merit of Arm’s arguments in the case,” Arm said in a statement.
